Comments
The seminar is designed to discuss Christian religions in the U.S. as well as Christian migrant/diasporic churches in contemporary American society from a sociological perspective. It develops an understanding of such concepts as religious identity, church planting, religious conversion, diaspora and religion. The seminar introduces basic skills of field research through participant observation in Berlin-based churches of American origin. Field research is intended to discuss the relations between the (American) content in the (European) context and, broader, will help to analyze the specifics of adaptation of outsider religious traditions in hosting culture. close
