Aleksandra Peeva
Comments
This Topics in Macroeconomics course will focus on the monetary side of the international economy. The study of the theory of international economics generates an understanding of many key events that shape our domestic and international environment. In recent history, these events include the causes and consequences of the large current account deficits of the United States and the global financial crisis that began in the United State in 2007, highlighting the way in which various national economies are linked and how important it is for us to understand these connections. Central themes of the course are (1) the balance of payments, (2) exchange rate determination, (3) international policy coordination, and (4) the international capital market. This course requires the presentation of a research paper and a final exam. Texts will be available via Blackboard. close
