This BA colloquium is intended to be held on campus (Präsenzlehre).
Depending on the class size, the first four sessions might be held online. Content wise, the first session will familiarize you with the technicalities of writing a BA thesis (supervisors, deadlines, etc.) and the second session will be devoted to good scientific practice and the ethical aspects of research. The third session will focus on basic techniques of scientific writing such as the use of citations and the correct referencing of sources. The fourth session will include a brief introduction to Endnote and the electronic resources provided by Freie Universität’s library system. After the first four sessions, we will meet in small groups (ideally based on the discipline in which the BA thesis will be written) to work on the research question, the bibliography and the introductory chapter.
Please get in touch with me before the first session if attending the course physically is not possible for you (or not preferred). We will then try to find a way to allow you to attend the course virtually.
