Kommentar
Subject: In this course you will correspond with students from around the world on your experiences of the pandemic and your perspectives on some of the issues which it raises.
Program: In the first part of the course you will write a series of one-page letters on topics ranging from the wearing of masks and personal space to your view on protests during the pandemic and globalisation. At the end of each week you will submit your letter for anonymous review and receive for review a letter from an anonymous correspondent. You will be encouraged to approach these letters as a mix of exercises in personal reflection, creative writing, informative journalism and academic debate. After the mid-semester break you will chose one topic and work towards a 2000-word piece of writing by submitting 500 words for review every second week. By the end of the course you will have engaged with a unique range of perspectives on the pandemic, and you will have improved your own writing skills by helping others to improve theirs.
Assessment: To obtain 5 ECTS points you will need to write and constructively review 3500 words and submit a 2000-word piece of writing.
Practicalities: There is no attendance requirement. You will however have the opportunity to discuss your work with other students at optional online meetings.
