Kommentar
The course aims at providing an understanding of the dynamics of economic development. It will focus on research in political economy, conflict, labor markets, resource economics and climate change. The main aim of the literature discussed is to give a basic understanding of the impediments to development by analyzing interlinkages between economic and political dimensions both at the national and local levels. The course will discuss the empirical methods required to approach research questions as well as relevant policy implications. The objective of the course is to familiarize the students with relevant issues of applied economics and empirical strategies. At the end of the course, the students will be familiar with the basic concepts in the field of economic development, empirical analysis and data issues.
Because of the applied nature of this course that builds upon basic knowledge of econometrics, it is only open to students who have successfully completed the orientation module in economics. Schließen
