In this seminar, we will critically engage with Marxist theory. We will spend about half the seminar on reading Marx’s own critique of political economy, particularly his first volume of Capital . We will then move on to more recent critiques of and developments in Marxist theory. -----
This will be a very reading-intensive course, so please be advised that in order to participate you should really commit yourself to doing the required reading. Our reading of Capital will be based on the Penguin edition. The entire seminar will be taught remotely via Webex.
