This tutorial complements the thematic seminar and focuses on training basic skills relevant for academic research and writing. It aims at deepening the understanding of the subject matter through critical engagement with a variety of recent Japanese sources. Beyond that, the tutorial will also hone a range of analytical techniques used for evaluating primary and secondary materials in Japanese and effectively employing them in ones’ own work. close
