WiSe 20/21: Inequalities in the Global Order
Lora Anne Viola
Information for students
Classes will be primarily held synchronously online, with occasional in-person teaching as circumstances allow.
Comments
This course explores the different kinds of global inequality that exist. Based on a close reading of theoretical and empirical texts, we will address questions such as: What are the different kinds of inequality and how might they be related? Why do they exist and why do they persist? How much global inequality is acceptable and can it ever be eliminated? The course will consider inequalities both at the level of individuals and at the level of polities; and it will consider both material and political inequalities. close
