  Comments
This course will engage with Islamic cultures through hands on engagement with writing, geometry, and music. Participants will be expected to knowledgably listen to music and recognize certain forms that define music in the Middle East; learn elements of Arabic writing and learn from its calligraphic practices; and draw Islamic geometric patterns. Online discussions will be synchronous, but many of learning materials will be available asynchronously online. Students will be graded on their creative engagement with the forms learned in class. close
