WiSe 20/21: Media Effects Theories in the Digital Age

This seminar aims at giving an overview of the current state of media effects research. Participants will analyse the application of classic media theories, such as agenda-setting theory, framing theory, and others in contemporary communication science. Participants will read relevant media effects studies and discuss challenges of adopting the classic theories for analysing communication in the digital era. They will also produce explanatory videos on the theory of their choice. close
