WiSe 20/21: Introduction to late antique Zoroastrianism
Arash Zeini
Comments
The roots of the religion known today as Zoroastrianism reach back to an elusive past without certain geographies. Loosely associated with three Iranian empires, today Zoroastrianism is a minority religion in Iran, India and a number of other countries. The late antique era marks an important point in the religion's development from its remote past to modern times. This is due to a relatively large corpus of writings in Middle Persian that have come down to us on various materials. The focus of this seminar will be on Zoroastrianism based on information we can glean from these sources. close
