In dieser Lehrveranstaltung werden fortgeschrittene mathematische Konzepte und Methoden aus der Optimierung, Numerik und Statistik vor dem Hintergrund aktueller Forschungsrichtungen der Bioinformatik und Systembiologie vermittelt. Es werden Themen aus folgenden Gebieten behandelt:
- Lineare Optimierung (Simplex-Algorithmus, Dualität)
- Ganzzahlige lineare Optimierung (Branch-and-bound, Schnittebenen, Branch-and-Cut)
- Lokale Suche und Metaheuristiken
- Gewöhnliche Differentialgleichungen (Modellierung, Analyse, Sensitivität)
- Lineare Modelle und Testtheorie
- Klassifizierung - Bootstrap und Modellevaluation
- Markov Modelle (EM, HMM, MCMC)
