It was not only the Corona pandemic that demonstrated the topicality, significance and impact of globalisation processes, but also the consequences of a forced deglobalisation. From a methodological point of view, globalisation processes challenge the national "container model" (Beck) and open the perspective for political, economic, social and cultural interconnections. In this seminar, we read selected sociological theories of globalisation, which includes a study of related phenomena and concepts such as transnationalisation. In addition, we deal with globalisation processes using concrete case studies from areas such as media, economy and culture. close
