Quantitative text analysis involves the application of statistical methods to written language. These include counting word frequencies, analysing correlations and networks between words, recognising the emotional attitude in written language (sentiment analysis) and the automated classification of texts into latent or explicit categories (machine learning). We will cover these and other techniques of quantitative text analysis in this seminar. close
