Anna Abalkina

Comments

Authoritarian regimes use political violence at different scale levels from threats to repressions. The course aims to investigate the reasons for political repressions in authoritarian regimes and their consequences for society and regime durability. Special attention will be paid to strategies of legitimation of political repressions. Other topics to be covered in this course are repressions and co-optations as a pillar of stability of regimes; electoral violence; and dynamics of repressions and protests. close
