Seminar
WiSe 21/22: Stata
Julia Zimmermann
Comments
This seminar is intended for students who have little or no knowledge of econometrics or knowledge of the statistical program STATA. It includes a step-by-step introduction to data analysis with STATA, as basic knowledge of regression methods and a confident use of STATA are important prerequisites for successful participation in advanced master courses. The participants will acquire an understanding of fundamental models and methods for the analysis of microeconometric data and will be able to perform such analysis by using a program such as STATA. In the seminar, therefore, basic properties of linear regression in cross-sectional data are being recapitulated, with a special focus on the endogeneity problem. Following explanatory sequences, participants will work independently on practical exercises with STATA, which will subsequently be discussed. In addition to the theoretical teaching of linear regression methods and introduction to the condition, the course aims to teach students how to work with STATA in a command line environment. close
