Comments
Right-wing extremism is an increasingly urgent problem for democracy. Within the far right, organisations - from political parties, to social movement organisations, to alternative media - play a crucial role in disseminating ideology and content. This seminar explores conceptual and methodological issues around analysing the communication of far-right organisations. In particular, the course will consider the role of digital platforms and the role of visual communication alongside more traditional text-based approaches. Students can design and work on their own research project comparing the communication of selected far-right organisations to investigate the role of different factors like nationality, organisational type or ideology.
