WiSe 21/22: Deleuze (and Guattari): Image(s) of Thought (English)
Daniel Austerfield
Comments
Deleuze diagnoses that Western Philosophy shares in one general image of thought: representatiton and its model of recognition (DR 169) in thinking which he calls "a hinderance to philosophy" (DR 170). Bold claims, if you will, even more so if we consider that our whole tradition of philosophy is at stake. Starting with chapter 3 of Difference and Repetition we will examine what image of thought means, how it relates to thinking and (probably by turning to "What is Philosophy?") thought.
Prior knowledge is welcomed but not necessary.
