In the lecture, we consider the implications of quantum computers for cryptography. To this end, we first introduce the operation of quantum computers and analyze various quantum algorithms. Highlights are the presentations of the quantum algorithms of Grover (to improve the cryptanalysis of symmetric methods) and Shor (to significantly improve the cryptanalysis of methods based on the factorization problem and the problem of computing the discrete logarithm).
