WiSe 22/23: Introduction to critical disinformation studies
Florian Primig
Kommentar
Disinformation, often referred to as "fake news," is a perennial topic in (political) reporting as well as in the political and social sciences. In this course, we will address the central questions and concepts of disinformation research from a critical perspective. Who believes and spreads disinformation, why, how and with what effect? Is disinformation purely an internet phenomenon? What solutions are there and who is responsible for their implementation? At the end of the course, students will have acquired an overview of these and other central questions and concepts, will be able to explain them and process them in a term paper.
