The high level of performance in farm animals is influenced by breeding and husbandry , but also largely determined by appropriate provision of energy and nutrients. One complication is, that feeding for optimized performance is not always congruent with health aspects. The aim of the course is to bridge the gap between basics of animal nutrition on the one hand, and diet-related diseases on the other. Based on the scientific principles of animal nutrition it is intended to discuss the main nutritional priniciples and adequate feeding management. The aim is to support students in the assessment of rations ruminants and pigs. The health-promoting requirements will be identified and defined. close
