This course deals with the history of German development cooperation, with its actors, paradigms and problems. Development policy mirrors not only the contemporary history of the Federal Republic of Germany, but also that of development theory: We follow the rise of development cooperation from a subordinated field of German foreign policy to an original contribution to global structural policy. In this context, a particular focus is laid on the links to the other policy areas of German foreign relations, especially diplomacy, external trade policy and security policy. Schließen
