The description of the first part of this seminar series that was held last semester said: ‘In order to find answers for the question raised in the title of this seminar, we will attempt to create a conversation between the experiences of historical and present-day exploitation of different geographies and nation states. One of our aims in this regard will be to understand the relation between the exploitation of natural resources, of the local work force and systematic underdevelopment and civil war.’ By now, we have identified an institutionalized regime of inequality whose structures and dynamics we tried to understand. In this semester, we would like to deepen that understanding through further zooming in on the different institutions’ roles and agendas that uphold global inequality and injustice. Students who did not attend last semester’s seminar will be given an elaborate overview of our previous findings and analysis. Schließen
