SoSe 22: Global Labor History

Andreas Eckert

Kommentar

Work and workers have been in the focus of global history research in the past decade, resulting in, among others, revisions of ‘classical’ labor history narratives, a fresh interest in the interconnectedness of different labor forms across the globe, and an ongoing debate around what should be defined as work. This course will introduce some of the main thematic and methodological debates in Global Labor history and will particularly focus on some parts of Africa and Asia and their entanglements with other world regions in the realm of labor.
