Lecture: Planetary bodies with solid surfaces; silicate crusts: impact processes and geological deposits; cosmic weathering and regolith formation - chemical, mineralogical composition and physical properties; magmatism - volcanic structures, lava, eruptive mechanisms, basalt composition; tectonics: crustal extension, crustal compression, disruptions, rift fractures, shifts; geological evolution of terrestrial planets, Earth's moon, Io and siliceous asteriods; water in the solar system: weathering, fluviatile and glacial erosion processes, material transport, sedimentation; atmosphere/surface interaction: aeolian processes; ice crusts: impact processes and geological deposits; regolith formation; composition of ice crusts; ice tectonics; cryovolcanism; geological evolution of ice moons and small ice bodies; analogue studies on Earth.
Exercises: Determination of geomorphology: methods of photogeology with cameras; geological mapping: determination of stratigraphy: age determination, interpretation of geological processes; determination of surface structure: photogrammetry and 3d mapping; measurement of the reflective properties of a surface; determination of the chemical and mineralogical surface composition by means of spectroscopy; in-situ field geology: measurements with land probes and rovers - context geology.
