SoSe 22: The Jews in the Greco-Roman World
Sören Lund Sörensen
Comments
The Jews are among the best-documented peoples of the ancient world. From the Hellenistic period through the Roman empire Jewish settlements were found throughout the Mediterranean, in particular in Asia Minor, Egypt and the Near East. In this course we shall study a selection of the large Jewish literature of this period, from which a variegated picture of the Jewish people emerges.
