Sina Emde
Comments
This seminar looks at intersectionalities of gender, sexuality, ethnicity, religion and the nation-(state). We will ask about the many ways in which gender and sexuality structure and are structured by nationalisms and state politics, and how they may define belongings and citizenships in contemporary nation(-states). We will explore ‘classical’ texts on gender and nationalism in anti- and postcolonialism, recent discussions on gender, sexuality ethnicity and citizenship in a global and transnational world as well as new debates on gender, revolutions and nations in the recent Arab spring. close
