This course will use an introductory text on Religion and Art in Islam to explore collections and monuments of Islamic art as available online. Students will learn about the history and practice of Islam as expressed in material form. The course can be pursued asynchronously by reading the text and following the links, or synchronously by doing this together during the course hours. Evaluation will take place through an online examination in which small groups of students will be asked to explain museum objects and/or images of architecture not covered in class based on the information covered during the course.
