      SoSe 15: Comparative Political Communication
Barbara Pfetsch
Kommentar
The seminar shall provide an overview of theoretical concepts and empirical studies in political communication and the relationship between media, politics and public opinion. It starts out by looking at basic macroanalytical paradigms which guide the research on political aspects of communication in modern Western democracies. The students shall discuss theories of Americanization and Mediatization as well as approaches to International Communication and Political and Journalism Cultures. In the second part of the seminar, we focus on microanalytical studies of political communication, such as political media effects, media and political knowledge and media and political malaise.
