SoSe 15: (GEND) Theorien in den IB
Tobias Berger
Kommentar
This course provides a general introduction to the major theoretical traditions of International Relations, including Realism, Liberalism, Constructivism, Marxism, Feminism, and Postcolonial Approaches. This course has a strong gender component, which means that feminist and queer theories will not only be introduced as a distinct body of IR scholarship but also that we will continuously use gender as an analytical perspective to interrogate different traditions of theorizing international politics. Besides a consolidated knowledge of major theories and approaches in IR and the ability to critically apply these theories to selected issues in world politics (e.g. war and peace, international organizations, global justice & human rights), this course also aims to equip students with a basic understanding of the development of IR as a distinct discipline and specialized field of academic knowledge.
