Kommentar
The course focusses on institutional features of educational systems and labour markets in European societies and on their consequences at the individual level (in terms of educational achievement, attainment, transitions, and later life events). A special attention is given the theoretical and methodological notion of 'regimes' and functional equivalents. It will be assessed how institutions interact and under which conditions they unfold their effects on the micro-level. The students should become familiar with the central institutional features of education and employment systems, such as standardization, stratification, vocational specificity, horizontal and vertical differentiation, employment protection, and labour market regulation. Every participant should prepare a presentation either on a particular country or on a particular institutional feature. Schließen
