The course will be held in English. The course language may be changed to German on unanminous demand of the participants.
Students wanting to prepare themselves are advised to familiarize themselves with the Uyghur system of the Arabic script. However, the script will also be taught during the course.

Introduction to the Modern Uyghur language
This course is designed for students who already have good knowledge of a Turkic language plus reading ability of the Arabic script. This is a beginners´ course in Modern Uyghur. The focus of the course will be the particular morphonological and morphological rules of this Turkic language, word formation, basic case and verb morphology and other important sections of grammar. The course is intended as first part of a full course in Modern Uyghur.
