This Seminar will introduce students to discourses and experiences of sensation in cultures of Islamic cultural hegemony in the MENAP region. Students will be expected to build on a visit to the Islamic Museum in Berlin through suggested readings and creative activities to learn about the sight, hearing, smell, and taste in Islam. The course will include both theoretical texts and practical activities, including drawing and cooking. close
