Course Content:
• A theoretical immersion into the topic of landscape archaeology from the perspective of modeling approaches in archaeology.
• Learning the basics and concepts of the scripting language R for handling and modeling spatial data
• Theoretical discussion of selected issues and approaches to archaeological landscape modeling and spatial analysis, as well as their practical implementation in the R scripting language.
Learning Objectives:
• Students will know basic concepts of modeling in general and important latent (spatial) models within archaeology. Furthermore, the students are able to carry out target-oriented spatial analyses and modeling approaches in R on the basis of existing data and their quality for a research question.
